Musa Ngema

Musa is an Associate Partner with the firm.  He is Head of Credit, Managing Partner of the Senatla Capital Credit Fund I and Group CIO: Senatla Capital Debt Advisory & Debt Fund Management. 

Musa has over 15 years’ experience in financial services, focused on Portfolio Management, Private Debt and Equity. He was Head of Credit at a large South African Fixed Income investment manager (part of a JSE listed Asset Management group) which provides a suite of investment solutions for institutional and retail clients. He was responsible for developing and overseeing the credit strategy of the firm, including creating and managing credit processes and their implementation; managing Governance, Reporting and Portfolio management, Deal making and was the Chair of the Credit Committee. 

Prior to this he was a Senior Investment manager with Future Growth Asset Managers, where he was responsible for SA and ex-SA unlisted credit investments. 

Before joining these firms, Musa gained extensive technical transaction execution experience in private credit and equity investment management. He has worked for various Pan-African and Global institutions, including Stanlib (Africa Real Estate Private Equity), Alexander Forbes Investments (Fund Management), and the Development Bank of Southern Africa (SADC Senior Coverage and Origination Investment Officer).

 He has travelled across 15 African countries, focusing on deal origination and execution. He has worked closely with Pan-African Corporates and State-Owned Enterprises in both Private Credit and Private Equity. He has built a solid understanding of the Sub-Saharan macro-economic and socio-political landscape, supported by a strong foundation formed in Economic research, encompassing deal execution. 

Musa holds a B. Com in Applied Economics and is completing his thesis for master’s in management finance and Investments from Wits Business School. Musa is a CFA Charterholder.
